India, Aug. 11 -- Singapore's gross domestic product expanded 4.4 percent on year in the second quarter of 2025, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said on Tuesday - beating forecasts for 4.3 percent, which would have been unchanged.

On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, GDP was up 1.4 percent after contracting 0.5 percent in the three months prior.

For the first half of 2025, Singapore's GDP was up 4.3 percent on year.

Upon the release of the data, the MTI upgraded its growth forecast from 0 to 2 percent to 1.5 to 2.5 percent. The MTI acknowledged, however, that the economic outlook for the rest of the year remains clouded by uncertainty, with the risks tilted to the downside.
