India, April 25 -- Sensient Technologies Corporation (SXT) rose 10.25 percent to $90.41, gaining $8.19 during Friday's trading, after posting stronger-than-expected first quarter results. Revenue increased 2.0 percent year over year to $392.3 million, or 4.1 percent. Net earnings climbed to $34.5 million from $30.9 million a year ago.
The stock opened at $82.00 and traded between $80.00 and a new 52-week high of $88.33 on the New York Stock Exchange. Trading volume reached 407,197 shares, surpassing the average volume of 312,043.
Sensient is now trading near the top of its 52-week range of $66.15 to $88.33.
