India, April 15 -- Redwire Corporation (RDW) shares climbed 9.25 percent to $9.92 on Thursday after the company announced it has been awarded a contract by Thales Alenia Space to provide four docking mechanisms for the European Space Agency's Lunar I-Hab module, part of NASA's lunar Gateway project.

The stock opened at $9.15 and traded between $9.08 and $10.29, with volume at 1.1 million shares, below its average of 2.2 million. RDW has traded between $3.39 and $26.66 over the past 52 weeks.

The contract, awarded to Redwire's Belgian subsidiary, includes an active docking mechanism and three passive systems, supporting safe crew and cargo transfers within the Gateway lunar station.
