India, April 11 -- Portage Biotech Inc. (PRTG) surged 94.05 percent to $9.11 down $4.74 during Friday's trading, without any official news or filings to explain the move.
The biotech stock saw a significant increase in trading activity as it spiked from its previous close of $5.04 to an intraday high of $13.11.
PRTG opened at $5.14 and traded between $5.14 and $13.11 on volume of 22.7 million shares, sharply above its average of 598,000 on the Nasdaq. The stock has traded between $2.10 and $23.01 over the past 52 weeks.
