India, May 26 -- Pony.ai (PONY) announced that it has reached a Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority or RTA to deploy its advanced robotaxi fleet in the region.
Dubai's 2030 Smart City Vision aims to have 25% of the city's transportation become autonomous by 2030. As part of this plan, Pony.ai's self-driving technology will be introduced in phases. The first supervised trials will begin in 2025, and fully driverless operations are expected to start in 2026.
Pony.ai plans to start mass production and deployment of its seventh-generation robotaxis in the second half of 2025. This initiative is expected to lay a robust foundation for the company's global expansion.
