India, March 11 -- Malaysia's jobless rate remained stable in January after falling in the previous month, data from the Department of Statistics showed on Monday.
The jobless rate came in at 3.1 percent in January, the same as in December. In the same month last year, the unemployment rate was 3.3 percent.
The number of unemployed people decreased to 533,800 in January from 538,500 in the previous month.
Data showed that the employment rate edged higher to 68.5 percent from 68.4 percent in December. The labor force participation rate stood at a stable rate of 70.6 percent.
