India, Jan. 31 -- The health ministers took to X/Twitter to confirm an Ebola outbreak in Uganda, marking the country's first outbreak in two years.

The announcement comes as a 32-year-old male nurse, employed at Mulago Hospital in the capital Kampala, died due to the virus.

"Our rapid response teams are fully deployed, contact tracing is under way, and all necessary measures are in place to contain the situation," Diana Atwine, secretary of the Ugandan Ministry of Health, posted on the social media platform. "We assure the public that we are in full control." The nurse, who initially sought treatments at multiple hospitals, later succumbed to the Sudan strain of the virus, which was confirmed by the authorities during the postmortem.
