India, Feb. 13 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a public health alert for The Pasty Oven, Inc.'s frozen, fully cooked ready-to-eat meat and poultry pasties, due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen.
The products were produced using an egg wash, which contains egg, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.
FSIS, during a routine label review, found the issue of egg ingredient missing from the final product label. A recall was not requested because the affected products are no longer available for purchase.
The alert has been issued against Pasty Oven's certain 8-ounce plastic packages and 15-pound cases of "The Pasty Oven" products, including "Pasty with Chicken...
