India, May 5 -- According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service or FSIS, New Jersey-based Ferrarini USA, Inc. is recalling approximately 70 pounds of ready-to-eat sliced prosciutto, an Italian cured ham, as it was not presented for import reinspection into the United States.

The recalled product comes in 4-ounce vacuum-sealed plastic trays labeled "FERRARINI PROSCIUTTO DI PARMA PRODUCT OF ITALY," with lot code "2527642" printed on the back label.

The pre-sliced, ready-to-eat prosciutto products were brought into the U.S. on April 21.

The recalled products have the Italian inspection mark "IT 713 L CE" on the front of the package and were distributed to retail stores in California.
