India, April 3 -- Sharply lower U.S. and Canadian futures, weak European stocks and falling oil and bullion prices point to a gap down opening for the Canadian market on Thursday.

U.S. President Donald Trump's sweeping tariff announcement on trade partners has raised fears of a global trade war and triggered inflationary concerns.
