India, May 25 -- The Australian stock market is slightly extending its early losses in mid-market trading on Monday, reversing some of the gains in the previous session, following the broadly negative cues from Wall Street on Friday. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index is staying near the 8,350.00 level, with weakness in mining, energy and financial stocks partially offset by gains in gold miners and technology stocks.
The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 Index is losing 8.90 points or 0.11 percent to 8,352.00, after hitting a low of 8,345.50 earlier. The broader All Ordinaries Index is down 5.70 points or 0.07 percent to 8,581.00. Australian stocks closed modestly higher on Friday.
