India, July 10 -- Assa Ablo AB (ASAZF, ASAZY, ASSA-B.ST), an access solutions company specializing in locks, doors, and entrance automation, on Thursday, announced that it has acquired Calmell Ltd., a Spanish manufacturer of smart cards, smart paper tickets, and magnetic tickets. The financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition is expected to be earnings accretive from the start. The company will join HID's Identification Technologies business unit.
Calmell, founded in 1920 and based in Barcelona, Spain, has around 100 employees. In 2024, Calmell recorded sales of approximately EUR 29 million, around SEK 330 million, with a strong EBIT margin.
