India, March 28 -- The antipodean currencies such as the Australia and the New Zealand dollars weakened against their major currencies in the Asian session on Friday, as Asian stock markets traded lower amid concerns over upcoming reciprocal tariffs and the 25% tariffs on auto and auto components imports into the U.S. to go in to effect next week. The uncertainty about U.S. President Donald Trump's trade policies continue to weigh on market sentiment.
Traders may also be reluctant to make significant moves ahead of the release of the U.S. Fed's preferred readings on U.S. consumer price inflation later in the day.
