India, Feb. 4 -- Amdocs Ltd (DOX) released a profit for its first quarter that increased from the same period last year and beat the Street estimates.
The company's earnings came in at $151.1 million, or $1.33 per share. This compares with $148.0 million, or $1.26 per share, last year.
Excluding items, Amdocs Ltd reported adjusted earnings of $188.2 million or $1.66 per share for the period.
Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $1.64 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company's revenue for the period fell 10.8% to $1.110 billion from $1.245 billion last year.
