India, Feb. 14 -- California-based AKT Trading Inc. is recalling 120 packages of Menma Ajitsuke Prepared Bamboo Shoot Product as it can potentially be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The recall was initiated after the product was found on January 14 at the Tokyo Central Costa Mesa store, being sold without refrigeration. The absence of a "Keep Refrigerated" label may have caused the problem. The store immediately removed the product from sale.
The recalled CHOSHIYA MENMA AJITSUKE Prepared Bamboo Shoots are packaged in an 8.8-ounce plastic bag. It can be identified by the UPC 4983673527332, with an expiration date of January 29, 2025.
