India, April 29 -- The Indonesia stock market has moved higher in three straight sessions, advancing almost 140 points or 2.2 percent along the way. The Jakarta Composite Index now rests just beneath the 6,750-point plateau and it may extend its gains again on Wednesday.

The global forecast for the Asian markets is positive on optimism ahead of earnings season. The European and U.S. markets were up and the Asian bourses are expected to follow that lead.

The JCI finished modestly higher again on Tuesday following gains from the financials and telecoms, weakness from the cement companies and a mixed picture from the resource stocks.

For the day, the index added 26.11 points or 0.39 percent to finish at 6,749.08 after trading between 6,724....
