France, Jan. 24 -- As more French motorists conform to evironmental rules byregistering their vehicle's emissions via graded Crit'Air car stickers, police warn that a rising number of fraudulent websites are scamming car owners buying the eco-rating sticker online.

With the gradual introduction of low-emission zones across France, more people are taking to the internet to purchase their Crit'Airstickers.

The anti-pollutionscheme was launched in 2017and consists ofa colour-codedsystem that identifies a vehicle's emissions.

Graded over six categories - from green at the top, to dark grey at the bottom- the least polluting vehicles are afforded preferential parking and traffic conditions.
