Nepal, May 23 -- Advocates Ananta Luintel, Pratibha Upreti, and Bishal Thapa filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court (SC) on Friday, questioning the qualifications of newly appointed Governor Dr Bishwa Nath Paudel.

The writ petition alleges that the Governor Recommendation Committee predetermined Dr Paudel's candidacy in a "match-fixing style" process before formally recommending him.

The SC administration said it is reviewing the writ and will decide whether to register it after completing the necessary procedures.
