KATHMANDU, Sept. 14 -- Nepal has defeated the United States of America (USA) by five wickets in a match held last night at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman. The match between the two countries was played under the ICC World Cup League 2.

The USA elected to bat first after winning the toss and collected a total of 230 runs, losing nine wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Nepal met the 231-run target in 49 overs losing only five wickets.

Kushal Bhurtel, who was declared the 'player of the match' contributed 84 runs to Nepal's victory. He hit three sixes and as many fours facing 93 balls. Rohit Kumar Poudel made 62 runs from 87 balls. He hit three sixes and two fours and was not out.
