KATHMANDU, May 31 -- Nepal's COVID-19 tally has reached 1,567 after the confirmation of 166 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said.

At a regular media briefing, Bikash Devkota, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that three persons tested positive for coronavirus during tests carried out at Gandaki Province Lab in Pokhara.

Similarly, Narayan Hospital in Birgunj recorded five cases of coronavirus, and a lab at the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences reported 37 cases of COVID-19.

Devkota said that the Surkhet-based provincial lab reported 26 cases of coronavirus and one person tested positive for COVID-19 at Dhulikhel Hospital.
