KATHMANDU, Jan. 25 -- The casting of votes for the National Assembly election has concluded across all seven provinces of the country.

The voting, which commenced at 9 AM for the election of 19 seats which will go vacant on March 4, concluded at 3 PM, said Shaligram Sharma Paudel, the spokesperson at the Election Commission (EC).

"A total of 99.32 percent votes were cast," said Paudel.

A total of 51 candidates from eight political parties are contesting in the election, with voters comprising members of provincial assemblies, mayors, deputy mayors, chairpersons, and vice-chairpersons of local levels.
