Nepal, June 28 -- The US Supreme Court on Friday backed President Donald Trump's effort to limit birthright citizenship and ordered lower courts that blocked the policy to reconsider their orders, according to the Hindustan Times of India.
Trump had signed an executive order to repeal birthright citizenship, which were granted to babies born in the US, regardless of their parents' citizenship.
The Supreme Court justices, in a 6-3 ruling, granted a request by the White House to narrow the scope of three injunctions issued by federal judges in Maryland, Massachusetts and Washington state, according to Reuters.
