KATHMANDU, March 7 -- The CPN (Unified Socialist) has officially announced the withdrawal of its support earlier extended to the Sudurpaschim Province government.

Likewise, the party has terminated its alliance with the Nepali Congress (NC) and has instead opted to join the new coalition government composed of the CPN (Maoist Center), CPN-UML, and RSP at the central level, effective Wednesday.

As a consequence of this decision, the CPN (Unified Socialist) has also withdrawn its support to the provincial government.

Naresh Kumar Shahi, the Minister for Economic Affairs in the province, tendered his resignation amidst the political realignment during a meeting with Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah.
