Nepal, June 23 -- Two elected local representatives have passed away in Udayapur district, resulting in vacancies in their respective posts. The deceased include Home Bahadur Khatri (Dahal), the ward chair of Rautamai Rural Municipality-2, and Chhabilal Jarga Magar, a member of Tapli Rural Municipality.
Ward chair Khatri, 61, who had been undergoing treatment for a heart condition, died on Saturday night at Kathmandu Medical College (KMC). According to Rautamai Rural Municipality Chair Birendra Magar, two of Khatri's three heart valves had stopped functioning, and he was admitted to KMC last week. His surgery was performed on Friday.
