Nepal, Sept. 8 -- Two people were killed after police opened fire in Itahari, Sunsari during the Gen Z protest.

Police resorted to firing after the protest against the social media ban and corruption turned violent. According to hospital sources, the deceased were men estimated to be 25 and 30 years old. Their identities have not yet been confirmed.

Those who were critically injured by police bullets were taken to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan. Police said that the doctors declared them dead upon arrival.
