India, Sept. 13 -- KATHMANDU, Sept 12: The Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) has reported that around two dozen hotels sustained damage during the Gen Z protests. Incidents of vandalism, arson and looting were recorded at well-known domestic and international brand hotels in Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, Butwal, Bhairahawa, Jhapa, Biratnagar, Dhangadhi, Mahottari and Dang-Tulsipur, among other areas.

According to HAN, Hilton Hotel in Kathmandu alone suffered damages exceeding Rs 8 billion, while the total nationwide loss is estimated at over Rs 25 billion. The HAN said many affected hotels will not be able to resume operations without repair and reconstruction, affecting the jobs of more than 2,000 workers.
