Nepal, Jan. 25 -- A Turkish Airlines aircraft bound for Istanbul from Kathmandu was returned from the runway to the parking bay after being stopped suddenly.

The aircraft, operating flight TK-727, was scheduled to depart Kathmandu at 12:35 pm.

According to Tribhuvan International Airport's Acting Director General Tek Nath Sitaula, the aircraft had already begun its take-off run after receiving clearance when an indication signalled a technical issue, prompting the crew to halt the aircraft.

"After an indication showed a problem, the aircraft, which had already started its run, was stopped and brought back," he said, adding that the plane will resume its flight after a technical inspection.
