RAUTAHAT, March 21 -- In order to avoid serious crimes during the festival of Holi, the District Police Office (DPO), Rautahat, tightened security and deployed two trained dogs at the border on Wednesday.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhupendra Khatri, the chief of the DPO, informed Republica that the dogs were brought from Province 3 Police Headquarters in Hetauda to ensure security at Gaur Customs. As the government banned the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand, the latter has intensified criminal activities of late, forcing authorities to beef up security at the border to curb such incidents.
