Nepal, April 1 -- Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has started operating 18 hours daily from today.

To expand the TIA, authorities closed it for 10 hours daily from November 8 to March 31 over a five-month period to carry out infrastructure construction for capacity enhancement. Starting today, the TIA will operate from 6:00 am to 12:00 am, according to General Manager Jagannath Niraula.

He stated that the construction of the link taxiway connecting the taxiway to the runway has been completed, while work on the parallel taxiway is still underway.
