KATHMANDU, Nov. 16 -- The Election Commission (EC) has formally registered 127 political parties, while an additional 20 parties are currently under the registration process. The deadline for party registration applications was set for the end of Kartik.

Assistant Spokesperson of the EC Prakash Neupane said on Saturday evening that 127 parties have already been registered and documents submitted by 20 parties are being examined. "The applications submitted by these 20 parties are under review. Those that meet the required criteria will be granted party registration certificates," he said.
