KATHMANDU, Oct. 12 -- A Thai Lion Air flight from Bangkok to Kathmandu was diverted to Lucknow, India, after it failed to land at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Saturday morning.
According to TIA officials, the aircraft, operating as flight TLM 220, executed a "missed approach" during landing and could not make a safe touchdown at the airport.
The aircraft later diverted to Lucknow as a precautionary measure. A missed approach generally occurs when an aircraft is unable to complete its landing safely and must circle or divert to ensure a proper landing procedure.
