Nepal, July 18 -- The Nepal Teachers' Federation (NTF) has given the government an ultimatum to pass the School Education Bill by August 6. Holding a press conference on Friday, NTF warned that if the bill is not passed by the deadline, it will launch a more intense protest than in the past. It stated that the nature and schedule of the protest will be made public later.
Accusing the government of not being serious about implementing the agreement reached on April 29, the NTF issued the ultimatum. During the press conference, teacher representatives claimed that the government itself backed out of its commitment to pass the School Education Bill through the House of Representatives by June 29, and is now blaming teachers despite the dead...
