Kathmandu, Nov. 27 -- Prime Minister Sushila Karki has viewed that political interventions would increase at universities with a system appointing political figures as Chancellor. In her address to the Senate of the Tribhuvan University on Wednesday, Prime Minister Karki stressed the need to close the door for unnecessary politicking by abolishing the system of having the Prime Minister as Chancellor in the universities.
"It was delayed to pass the annual policy and programme of the universities, which is not a good practice. Universities should be made free of politics," she opined.
