Sushmita sets new national record in shooting, Police becomes taekwondo champion
NEPALGUNJ, April 24 -- Province 3's Sushmita Nepal has set a new national record in women's 10-meter air rifle in shooting to win the gold medal in the ongoing Eighth National Games on Tuesday.
At the Shooting Range of Nepalgunj Stadium, Nepal broke the previous national record set by Sneha Rajya Laxmi Rana during the National Sports Council (NSC) Championship. Nepal got 234 points out of the total 240, breaking Rana's previous record of 233.
Also, in the category, departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club's Kalpana Pariyar and Nepal Police Club's Ashmita Rai got 227 and 203 points to stand second and third, respectively.
