KATHMANDU, Oct. 31 -- Sundar Haraincha in Morang recorded the highest rainfall of 210 millimeters in the last 24 hours due to Cyclone Montha, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM). In comparison, Saptari's Barmajhiya recorded 143 millimeters of rainfall.
DHM spokesperson Dinkar Kayastha said the cyclone's impact has been strongest in Madhesh and Koshi provinces, though Bagmati and other provinces are also experiencing cloudy weather and moderate rainfall. "This is considered heavy rainfall. Rain exceeding 200 millimeters falls under the category of very heavy rainfall," he said.
