KATHMANDU, April 2 -- Chief Minister (CM) of Sudurpaschim Province Kamal Bahadur Shah is going to seek a vote of confidence on Thursday.

CM Shah registered a proposal for the vote of confidence at the Provincial Secretariat on Tuesday.

Following the recent formation of a new alliance at the federal level, CM Shah dismissed ministers affiliated with CPN (Maoist Center).

Currently, Nepali Congress (NC) holds the largest share of seats in the province, with 18 out of the 53 members in the Provincial Assembly.

To retain his position, CM Shah must secure the support of at least 27 lawmakers.
