Sindhupalchowk and Manang districts declared disaster-hit zones
KATHMANDU, July 20 -- The government has declared Sindhupalchowk and Manang districts as disaster-hit zones until mid-October this year. These districts recorded significant loss of lives and property in mid-June this year due to monsoon-induced disaster.
Melamchi Bazar in Melamchi of Sindhupalchowk was hit by a recent massive flood. Likewise, Tal Bazar and other places in Manang have been at risk of landslides and floods.
The decision was taken by a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday, according to Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and government spokesperson, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.
