KATHMANDU, May 28 -- The government has transferred Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population Yadav Koirala in less than three months after being transferred there.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday took a decision to this effect.

The decision comes amid criticisms from multiple quarters that the country's federal health administration failed to take effective measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic across the country. Secretary Koirala has been transferred to Prime Minister's Office.

Koirala was under fire for his "poor handling" with other senior colleagues at the Health Ministry. It is learnt that he also failed to maintain "good working relationship" with them because of his "hawkish style"...
