Nepal, May 20 -- Supreme Court (SC) has cleared the way for the appointment of Dr Bishwo Paudel as new governor of Nepal Rastra Bank.

A single bench of Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla upheld the dismissal of the writ petition filed against Dr Paudel on Tuesday. By upholding the order issued earlier, the apex court cleared the way-at least for now-for Paudel's appointment as the governor of the country's central bank.

Meanwhile, the meeting of the Governor Recommendation Committee has concluded. The committee convened to select the 18th Governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank has completed its session.
