Nepal, May 16 -- The government will celebrate International Sagarmatha (Everest) Day with week-long programs.

The main ceremony committee, led by Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badriprasad Pandey, held its first meeting on Thursday and finalized plans for the week-long celebration.

The committee designed various programs to promote mountaineering, environmental conservation, Himalayan culture, and international tourism. These programs will feature Himalayan treks, cultural exhibitions, cleanup campaigns, interactive seminars, photo exhibitions, and student-focused awareness activities.
