Nepal, May 15 -- A delegation led by Batu Khasikov, head of the Republic of Kalmykia, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Thursday.

During the meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, various aspects of the friendly relationship between Nepal and Russia were discussed, according to the PM's Secretariat.

Chief Khasikov extended an invitation to PM Oli to participate in the International Buddhist Conference scheduled to be held in Kalmykia this coming September. In response, PM Oli requested him to convey an invitation message to Russian President Vladimir Putin for an official visit to Nepal.
