Nepal, April 9 -- Sobita Gautam, a member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Member of Parliament (MP), has been elected to the newly formed Health Committee at the 150th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly. She will serve a four-year term on this committee.

The decision to upgrade the Advisory Group on Health to the Health Committee was made during the 214th session of the IPU Assembly.

According to the rules of the newly established committee, the IPU governing council has elected 15 members for a four-year term as of April 9, 2025.

Along with Gautam, representatives from India, Mexico, UAE, Kenya, Netherlands, Switzerland, Algeria, Ireland, France, Namibia, Uzbekistan, and Zimbabwe have also been elected to the committee...
