Nepal, Sept. 2 -- Number of mountain climbers has been increasing in recent periods. According to the Department of Tourism, a total of Rs 638 million in revenue was collected from mountaineering expeditions climbing different mountains and peaks from March 1-April 21 (spring climbing season) of the current Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26.
Forty-one people including 26 men and 15 women successfully climbed Mt Kanchenjunga, the third tallest mountain (8,556 meters) in the world, located at Taplejung in spring season. A total of Rs 10.97 million was collected as royalty from this.
