Kathmandu, Dec. 7 -- The government has clarified that tenders have already been called for the import of 465,000 metric tons of chemical fertilizer so far. For the current fiscal year, the government has set a target to import 550,000 metric tons of fertilizer and allocated a budget of Rs 28.82 billion for the purpose. According to data provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, a total of 266,510 metric tons of chemical fertilizer is currently in the process of being supplied as of the second week of Mangsir. Of this, the Agriculture Inputs Company Limited (AICL) is importing 180,491 metric tons, while Salt Trading Corporation is importing 86,016 metric tons.
