Kathmandu, Aug. 11 -- The devastating floods and landslides in Rasuwa on June 7 have led to preliminary insurance claims totaling Rs 985.9 million, according to the Nepal Insurance Authority.
As of August 7, insurers had received 78 claims, including property insurance, nine marine insurance cases, five engineering and contractor risk claims, 16 private motor insurance cases and 42 public motor insurance claims.
The largest single claim amount of Rs 550 million was filed with Himalayan Everest Insurance, followed by Rs 169.63 million with Shikhar Insurance, Rs 87.3 million with Nepal Insurance Company and Rs 68.48 million with Sanima GIC.
