Nepal, Dec. 28 -- Rabi Lamichhane, chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra (Balen) Shah have reached a seven-point agreement following nearly a week-long round of negotiations.

The agreement was signed at around 4 AM on Sunday, bringing the talks between the two sides to a close. The agreement paves the way for RSP and Balen-led force to forge electoral alliance during the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) electons scheduled for March 5, 2026.

Under the agreement, Balen will serve as the parliamentary party leader and the prime ministerial candidate after the House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5, while Rabi will continue as the party chairperson.
