Nepal, June 2 -- Pro-monarchy groups will not stage any demonstrations on Monday, observing the day as one of mourning in memory of the late royal family.

In a statement on Monday, Nabaraj Subedi, coordinator of the Joint People's Movement Committee, said that no rallies, sit-ins, or protest programs will be held as planned earlier on Monday, marking the anniversary of the tragic royal massacre that took place on June 1, 2001, which claimed the lives of King Birendra and most members of the royal family.
