Nepal, April 6 -- President Ramchandra Paudel performed prayers and worship and paid his respects to the Seto Machhendranath.

On the occasion of Chaitra Shukla Ashtami, the Head of State traditionally pulls the chariot of the Seto Machhendranath to Asan in the evening and offers prayers and worship at midnight. Following this tradition, President Paudel visited Asan last night to perform prayers, worship, and have a darshan (sacred audience) of the White Machhendranath. The chariot procession of Machhendranath, which began on Saturday, passed through Machhendra Bahal, Thindhara Pathsala, Jamal, Ratnapark, and Bhotahiti before reaching Asan.
