Nepal, July 24 -- President Ram Chandra Paudel has returned the Bill to Amend the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers, and Procedures) Act, 2066, to the House of Representatives for reconsideration.

According to Presidential Press Advisor Kiran Pokharel, the President sent the Bill back to the originating House on Thursday, citing that the proposed amendments contradict the spirit and intent of the Constitution, as well as democratic values, norms and globally accepted practices.
