Nepal, June 11 -- Press Chautari Nepal has expressed serious concern over the order issued by the Kathmandu District Court to remove news articles published on Bizmandu.com and NepalKhabar.com, as well as the arrest warrant issued against journalist Dil Bhushan Pathak in relation to those news reports.

A statement issued by Hira Man Lama, General Secretary of Press Chautari Nepal, reminded that Nepal's Constitution guarantees full press freedom and freedom of expression in its preamble. The statement also clarified that if there is dissatisfaction or a dispute regarding published or broadcast content, the constitutional and legal authority for initial evaluation and resolution lies with the Press Council Nepal.
